After morning tea Tessa,from ASB came to talk to us about being smart with money.
First she came and was talking to us about how to earn money. She said that you must save some and put it in your bank. Then she talked to us about interest. She said when you put your money in the bank you get a little bit of extra money.
Next she told Gordon and Limi and Mya to come and help her. They had to hold the card up and flip it. When they flipped it they both had to save $15 a week because they wanted to buy a car. Gordon had to put his one in the bank and Limi and Mya had to put their money in the money box. Then they flipped the page and Limi and Gordon had both saved the same amount of money but Gordon had 3% interest but Limi didn’t. Gordon had more money than Limi. Then they had to choose what car they were going to buy. Mya did not buy a car because she had little money. Limi bought a small car but Gordon bought a flash car because he had enough money.
After that Havea had to be an ATM. Tessa had to put her card and Havea said "declined" then she ran to the shop to buy a chocolate and she tried to swipe her card but it didn’t work because she had no money. Then she said, "Can I take it." Havea said, "no course you did not buy it."
Finally it was over then we got ASB arm bands from her.
